The sea is a symbol of freedom
“The mysterious underwater world” exhibition is unique on a global scale. No other naval great power can boast of something similar. It was presented in 67 cities in West Germany, and close to 10 million – in part culturally unpretentious – visitors marveled at it. I gathered this immeasurable collection, as an exiled Hungarian marine researcher starting from the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, during 94 costly and highly dangerous research, collecting, and film expedition ventures from the most distant sea regions. Among others, I visited 171 oceanic islands, to which countless specialized literature, over 1200 press reports, TV, and radio reports bear witness across Europe.
I independently organized, led, and funded these expeditions from my own pocket. In these ventures, museums of the most diverse nationalities, research institutes, whale hunters, and open-sea fishermen were at my service. Furthermore, more than 550 natural scientists, marine biologists, authors, reporters, filmmakers, and business people, as well as Mafia deep-divers, Arab terrorists, and useless adventurers took part with me.
In one person, I am a researcher and cameraman, a diving expert, marine biologist, writer, taxidermist, and a certified teacher in 24 sporting disciplines – among others. My ultimate goal is to establish a unique marine museum in my homeland, Hungary…
